Use the correct reference

The tracking result depends on the number and operating carrier.

01

Master AWB

The airline transport number used for the main airport-to-airport movement.

Use this number on the operating airline’s cargo website.
02

Airline prefix

The first three digits identify the airline accounting prefix.

The prefix helps select the correct airline before entering the serial number.
03

House AWB

A freight-forwarder document for one customer shipment under a master AWB.

Airline systems may not recognize it; ask Foresmart for the master AWB.
04

Foresmart shipment reference

The operating reference used for pickup, documents, flight and delivery communication.

Use this when the question concerns more than the airport-to-airport leg.

Typical air-cargo journey

Airlines use short operational codes, but the shipment normally moves through these stages.

01
Booking confirmed

Space is planned on a flight or service; cargo may not yet be accepted.

02
Accepted / RCS

The airline or handling agent has accepted the cargo as ready for carriage.

03
Manifested

The AWB is assigned to a planned flight movement.

04
Departed origin

The cargo left the origin airport on an actual flight.

05
Transfer / connection

The shipment is moving through a transit airport or another flight.

06
Arrived destination

The cargo reached the destination airport.

07
Customs / available

Government and terminal processes may still be required before release.

08
Delivered / picked up

The airline handoff is complete; door delivery may continue under another provider.

Scheduled, estimated and actual

Do not read every date as a confirmed physical event.

SCHEDULEDPlanned movement

A booking, vessel, flight or delivery plan that can still change.

ESTIMATEDCurrent prediction

A carrier-calculated milestone based on available operating data.

ACTUALRecorded event

A departure, arrival, handoff or delivery scan that has already occurred.

EXCEPTIONAction or disruption

A status that may require documents, payment, approval or carrier follow-up.

When tracking is unclear

Common reasons a result is missing, delayed or incomplete.

First verify the carrier, reference and timestamp before treating a missing scan as a lost shipment.

House AWB entered

The airline may recognize only the master AWB created for the flight movement.

AWB too new

A number can exist before the airline posts an acceptance or flight event.

Split shipment

Some pieces may move on different flights because of capacity or handling decisions.

Connection delay

A transit airport or missed connection can change the next planned flight.

Customs or terminal release

Arrival does not mean cargo can immediately leave the airport.

Door-delivery gap

Airline tracking may end before the final truck or courier delivery event.

Foresmart shipment support

Carrier tracking shows events; Foresmart can connect them with the shipment scope.

For cargo booked by Foresmart, send the carrier number together with the quotation or shipment reference and the milestone you need clarified.

Why does the airline not recognize my house AWB?

A house AWB is issued by the forwarder. Airline cargo systems normally use the master AWB for the actual flight movement.

It commonly uses a three-digit airline prefix followed by an eight-digit serial number, often displayed with a hyphen.

No. Arrival, terminal availability, customs release and pickup are separate events.

Airlines may split cargo because of capacity, aircraft, handling, security or connection conditions.

For Foresmart-booked cargo, the team can connect airline events with customs and final delivery information from the responsible partners.
